This has been especially so, as initially nothing seemed to be going right for the Sonia Gandhi-led party with the Congress President herself down with illness for almost a week during campaigning in the midst of the assembly polls.
The '26/11', dubbed as the worst terror strikes on India, had also come during the electioneering raising fears that the issue of terrorism could wipe out the party's chances in the five states.
But the poll outcome is a clear morale booster for the Congress and has come as more than a straw for the organisation which was dubbed as a 'sinking ship' by its detractors.
The latest poll debacles were those in Karnataka few months back and that in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat, a year ago.
The Gujarat setback was a real shock for the party with Gandhi personally leading the campaign against the BJP in order to oust Narendra Modi, who had the last laugh.
The grand old party lost elections galore since the Lok Sabha polls in 2004 and its victories were only limited to Haryana and Assam. It won Maharashtra after an alliance with NCP.
The states where it lost power include Uttarakhand, Punjab, Kerala while it failed to make any impact in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and some other states.

All of u who arite against Advani, sure are an lot of superficially informend people. Read the history and then comment. BJP is the only national party with long standing ideals and spine to lead a country like India. Don't forge that Kashmir, Muslim, Caste and regional politics are all creations of the Congress right from the inception of India. The current terrorism is also a gift from Congress to our country...I cry for India and the masses who are ill informed and base their opinion on superficial information...this country of beautiful and innocent but foolish people shall one day be cut to pieces by these vicious enemies...and our foolish bretheren shall keep supporting parties like the Congress, SP etc
Advani can divide India vertically( on religious ground), while Thakerays can diveide horizontally( on language basis) and we can expect some good number of pieces out of India if BJP is voted to power.

Whether Congress wins or loses common man's problems of terrorism, fear from criminals can't be solved insite of 52 years of independence. Some of our politicians better think of taking retirement.Modern india voter is a rational individual, not to be taken for granted. They can no longer be fooled by communalising via politics of disunity.The Rahul effect cant be dubbed as a 'child effect'. He has succeeded in mobilising the young. The future of India is going to be determned by them soon.
