| The Indian Express Group has always been an ideology; philosophy which has its roots in its founder Shri Ramnath Goenka’s vision. The India Press Photo Awards instituted by The Indian Express Group are an initiative to identify, promote and reward excellence in photojournalism and documentary photography. Press photographers, photojournalists and documentary photographers throughout India are invited to participate in the Ramnath Goenka India Press Photo Awards 05.
Selected from all entries, The Ramnath Goenka Picture of the Year 2005 will honour a photographer whose picture demonstrates an outstanding level of visual creativity and journalistic skill. The winner will receive cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and will be flown to Amsterdam to attend the World Press Photo award ceremony in April ‘06. The award winning photographs will be displayed at an exhibition in Mumbai, which will travel throughout the country. |
