Mutual funds to publish NAVs on daily basis from July

All open ended equity related schemes of all mutual funds including Unit Trust of India are expected to publish their net asset values on a daily basis from July 1, 1997, according to a decision taken at a meeting of the Securities and Exchange Board of India with the Association of Mutual Funds in India yesterday.

Firms line up to raise short-term debt from banks

Several corporates and finance companies have initiated plans to raise around Rs 500 crore through short-term debt paper to be placed with the banking sector over the next couple of weeks. This is in addition to some of the state-owned institutional borrowers who are collectively holding on to their plans of raising over Rs 2,500 crore during May.
