Paper calls for cut in diesel, kerosene subsidy

[Details] The discussion paper on "government subsidies in India" has made a case for reducing subsidy on diesel and kerosene, aside from irrigation water and electricity. It has also spoken against retention of pricing scheme for fertilisers and suggested enhancement of user charges in areas like transport, agriculture and education.

[Details] The BSE On Line Trading system will soon become operational out of Mumbai. The Department of Telecommunications is likely to give clearance on Friday to the Bombay Stock Exchange. In the first phase, BOLT will be made available in 75 centres across the country.

Lupin rifampicin unit receives US FDA approval

[Details] Lupin Chemicals , has received the US FDA approval for its 120 million tonne rifampicin facility at Tarapur in Maharashtra. According to the company, the facility is the second in the world to receive the approval after German multinational Hoechst Marion Roussel's plant in Italy.
