Meet to decide Hughes Ispat bid

[Details] The special Telecom Commission meeting on Saturday is likely to take a decision on the Hughes Ispat request to set up two separate companies to operate basic telecom circles in Karnataka and Maharashtra. The commission wants to dispose of the issue without any further delay as the consortium is yet to start its operations.

Goldstar, CDC to hold 21% stake in Neelachal Ispat

[Details] Foreign investors like South Korean trading giant Lucky Goldstar and the Commonwealth Development Corporation of UK will hold 21% of the equity capital in the MMTC and Orissa government promoted Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL). The public sector trading house MMTC Ltd's stake in NINL will be 16%.

Silicon Graphics sees boost from high-end segment

[Details] Silicon Graphics Systems India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the US-based Silicon Graphics, expects the enterprise (high-end) segment to be a major contributor to its revenues in 1997. The manufacturing sector, interactive systems and the educational markets would be the thrust areas for the company and expected revenues to be 50% higher.
