Hudco to decide on devolution today

Housing and Urban Development Corp (Hudco) plans to decentralise its offices into various zones, with the board expected to clear the plan at its meeting yesterday. The zonal offices will promote the programmes of Hudco and will also monitor the activities of all the regional offices.

Disappointing results from BoB MF schemes

Two of the three mutual fund schemes launched by BoB Mutual Fund have reported disappointing results for the year ended March 1997. With losses mounting for both, BoB ELSS '95 and BoB Growth '95, fund managers have been forced to provide higher amount as provisions for depreciation/losses in value of investments.

Goetze may hive off units

Goetze (India) is yet another example of a how unrelated diversification attempts create a drain on the company's resources. By far the largest producer of light alloy cylinders, cylinder liners, piston castings, piston rings and pistons, Goetze had tried to offset the slowdown in the auto segment by diversifying into the export-oriented businesses of leather garments and edible oils.
