[Details] The World Bank has called for a national brokerage regulation for commodity exchanges in India. It said the absence of proper government policies to monitor commodity brokerage can hinder the growth of futures market.

Convertibility panel has set tough terms: FM

[Details] Union finance minister P Chidambaram said the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) committee had set the government a stiff criteria of fiscal control. Drawing a comparison of the RBI panel's report on convertibility to European Union's Masstricht treaty, the minister described the recommendations as positive.

IPCL offers 14% to 14.25% band for bond issue

[Details] Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (IPCL) has decided to raise a Rs 450-crore debt funds at a coupon that will be decided for the first time through the bookbuilding process. The IPCL offers a very small width of coupon, ranging from 14% to 14.5% with steps of five basis points each.
