I-Sec to offer project appraisal expertise to select banks
ICICI Securities & Financial Services (I-Ssec), the investment banking arm of ICICI and JP Morgan, plans to cash in on commercial banks' foray into infrastructure financing by selling project appraisal expertise to some of the leading banks. It has lined up initial presentations with Bank of India, Dena Bank and Union Bank beginning next week.

Six Indian banks operating in Hong Kong face bleak prospects under the Chinese rule but have decided to stay on, while about 180 global bank are expecting a major shakeout in the financial market. The banks have been able to record a marginal profit for fiscal 1996-97.
IRFC to finalise price of Eurobond on July 7
In a bid to raise $150 million, the Indian Railways Finance Corporation (IRFC) will finalise the pricing of its sovereign bond issue on July 7 in London. The bond issue is of seven year maturity and will be lead managed by ANZ Investment Bank.
