Ten persons were killed and 26 others were injured on Friday in police firing at Ghatkopar in north-east Mumbai after a mob went on a rampage to protest the desecration of a Babasaheb Ambedkar statue. Those killed include a child and 2 women.

FII investment rockets to new high, touches Rs 1,300 crore
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have invested Rs 1,300.5 crore in the domestic stock markets during June. This is the highest net monthly investment in the current year. The net FII investments, up to July 9, stands at Rs 206.6 crore.

NSE broker arrested for introducing fake shares
The Mumbai police have arrested Vipul Prabhat Maheshwari, one of the promoters of Vipul Securities, who is alleged to have introduced Rs 22.19 crore worth of fake shares at the National Stock Exchange.
