Takeover panel partially exempts Abbott, Lupharma

[Details] SEBI has granted partial exemptions to Abbott Laboratories, USA and Lupharma GmbH from making open offers under the new takeover code while hiking their stake from 40% to 51% in Abbott Laboratories India and Knoll Pharmaceuticals respectively.

Depository slashes custody charges by half

[Details] The National Securities Depository Ltd has slashed custody charges payable by its depository participants (DPs) by half to 0.035% per annum. The move is expected to provide the much-needed thrust to the growth of the depository.

CSE Deliveries to be routed through clearing house

[Details] The Calcutta Stock Exchange authorities have amended the byelaws of the exchange to make it mandatory for members to route their deliveries through the clearing house mechanism. The only exceptions would be spot deals and odd lot deals where direct delivery versus payment between the members would be allowed.
