SEBI goes slow on move to hike merchant bankers' net worth

[Details] The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has put the proposal to increase merchant bankers' net worth on the backburner, after it had decided to push for their decategorisation.

Carryforward rates dip to 14 per cent on BSE

[Details] Carryforward rates on the Bombay Stock Exchange dipped to close at 14% annual or 1.2% monthly for a net outstanding position of Rs 162 crore. Of the 70 stocks offered for carry forward at the session, only four stocks attracted backwardation charges.

Silver ends lower

[Details] Silver prices lost gained ground while gold ruled steady on the bullion market yesterday. Silver .999 reacted by Rs 5 at Rs 6,440 per kg. Silver .916 moved down by same margin at Rs 6,340 per kg in sympathy.
