Darbari Seth quits ACC board

[Details] Darbari Seth, one of the patriarchs of the Tata group, has stepped down from the board of ACC Ltd, India's largest cement company. He had been inducted into the company's board in 1988 and played a major role in the revival of ACC.

Tata Chemicals net down 36 per cent

[Details] Tata Chemicals has posted a 36.05% drop in net profit to Rs 252.32 crore for the year ended March, 1997, as compared to Rs 394.56 crore in the previous year. Sales and operating income rose marginally to Rs 1,623 crore as against Rs 1,555.65 crore last year.
