IndusInd Bank to offer floating rates on deposits

[Details] IndusInd Bank will introduce floating interest rates on domestic term deposits of one year and above in the last quarter of the current fiscal. This is the first time any commercial bank will be offering a floating rate on domestic term deposits. The floating interest rate will be linked to an anchor rate which will be the simple average yield of the last six auctions of the 364-day treasury bills.

Vysya Bank H1 net profit slips to Rs 33 crore

[Details] Vysya Bank has recorded a decline in its net profit for the half-year ended September 30, 1997, as against the net profit for the same period in the previous fiscal. A net profit of Rs 32.61 crore has been registered against Rs 58.65 crore recorded in the previous year, owing to a provision of Rs 27.50 crore for doubtful debts on non-performing advances in the accounts for the half-year.

BHEL H1 net profit swells to Rs 117 crore

[Details] Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has posted a net profit of Rs 117.40 crore during the first half of the current year, compared to Rs 68.72 crore during the same period last year. The sales and income of the public sector company for the first six-months ending September 30 have risen from Rs 2,040.87 crore in 1996 to Rs 2,305.2 crore this year.
