European Commission imposes anti-dumping duties on linen imports from India

European Commission has imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of bed-linen from Egypt, India and Pakistan through a notification dated September 28, 1997. The definitive duties come into force from December 5, 1997. The duties applicable to sample companies vary between 2.6% to 24.7%. The duties for the cooperating companies is at 11.6 per cent and for the non-cooperating companies at 24.7%.

Few mutual funds keen on unveiling tax-saving schemes this fiscal

As the calendar year draws to an end, the resource mobilisation scene has turned out to be rather depressing with the primary market in doldrums. The only saving grace seems to be the mutual fund industry which inspite of all the negative perception about it, according to SEBI, has mobilised nearly Rs 4,600 crore more than it collected last year.

Congress seeks secular hands for alliance
