Few mutual funds keen on unveiling tax-saving schemes this fiscal
As the calendar year draws to an end, the resource mobilisation scene has turned out to be rather depressing with the primary market in doldrums. The only saving grace seems to be the mutual fund industry which inspite of all the negative perception about it, according to SEBI, has mobilised nearly Rs 4,600 crore more than it collected last year.

Congress seeks secular hands for alliance
Still smarting under the embarrassment of having precipitated unwarranted elections, the Congress yesterday called for the formation of a broad secular front to counter communal forces in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. In a categorical rear-guard effort, the party later came up with a five-page statement explaining the factors leading to the dissolution of the 11th Lok Sabha.
