BSE to advance pay-out schedule by 2 days

[Details] The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) proposes to reduce the number of days separating pay in and pay out exercise. Currently, the pay in takes place on Thursday and pay out on the following Monday. The exchange now proposes to bring forward the pay-out day to Saturday.

Indigo Tech bags contract for developing ISE's software

[Details] Inter-connected Stock Exchange of India (ISE) has decided to go ahead with the consortium headed by Indigo to develop the requisite software for trading, clearing and settlement systems and the trading hardware for the exchange. The other members of this consortium are Tandem Computers and Compaq Computers.

Experts caution India on derivatives

[Details] Joseph Mariathasan, director of Commercial Union Investment Management and Iona J Levine, derivatives practice, from Hammond Suddards, one of the leading solicitors from London have cautioned India on its all-round efforts to introduce this new product in the country. The SEBI-appointed LC Gupta committee is expected to submit its report on derivatives by end-December.
