Birla Mutual Fund's corpus touches Rs 800 crore

Birla Mutual Fund of the Aditya Birla group is now managing Rs 800 crore assets under various schemes without any addition to its fund management team. The company presently has seven fund managers, one dealer and one database manager.

MSRDC privately places Rs 500-crore bonds

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd (MSRDC) launched its Rs 500-crore bond issue on Tuesday. The privately placed issue has an option to retain Rs 500 crore worth of oversubscription amount. The issue consists of two types of bonds -- tax-free and taxable bonds. While the tax-free bonds have a coupon rate of 11.5%, the taxable bonds will bear an interest rate of 14%

Respite for plantation firms on furnishing scheme details

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has decided to extend the last date for plantation companies to submit details of their schemes. The details will now have to be provided by January 15, 1998. SEBI had earlier stated that no plantation companies should advertise any of their schemes till the regulations are in place and all companies are required to register with SEBI and provide details of their existing schemes within 21 days of the date of the release.
