Movers & Shakers --Lakhanpal takes over as DGFT
Lakhanpal takes over as DGFT N L Lakhanpal, an IAS officer of the 1967 batch, has taken over as the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in the Union ministry of commerce. Prior to his appointment as DGFT, Lakhanpal was principal secretary (finance) in the Maharashtra government. He had worked with the Union government during 1978-85 in the Central Vigilance Commission and in the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). Lakhanpal has also worked in various capacities in his parent Maharashtra cadre as divisional commissioner, secretary (food and civil supplies) and secretary (higher and technical education). Monginis appoints new national sales manager Balasubramainian joined Monginis Foods Ltd as the national sales manager for the Monginis Packaged Cakes range (FMCG). In the past, he has been associated with brands such as Nutrine, Eagle Flask and Amrutanjan. Award for CMD of Paradeep Phosphates H Mishra, CMD of Paradeep Phosphates Ltd and chairman of Fertiliser Association of India (Eastern Region), has been conferred the Mother India International Award for the year, 1997. The award has been bestowed upon Mishra for his contribution to bringing Paradeep Phosphates back on the rails. Om Prakash is new CJ of Kerala High Court JUSTICE Om Prakash, sitting judge of the Kerala High Court, has been appointed chief justice of the Kerala High Court. Justices K B Siddappa, Aluru Hanumanthu, R Bayapu Reddy and Thotakura Ranga Rao, who are presently additional judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, have also been appointed judges of the High Court, in order of seniority, by the President. Similarly, Justice Lokeshwar Prasad, additional judge, has been appointed a judge of the Delhi High Court. Additional judge Roshan Lal Anand has been appointed judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Additional judge Dipak Misra has been appointed judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Hamid appointed CMD of Engineering Projects Saleem Hamid has taken over as CMD of the state-owned Engineering Projects (India) Ltd. A technocrat by profession, Hamid was director (commercial and marketing) in the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). He has worked in various public sector undertakings such as BHEL, NTPC and Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL).
