MIDC, Fiat sign MoU for land in Ranjangaon
The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Fiat India Automobiles for the allotment of 85 hectares of land in Ranjangaon industrial area for the Rs 1,000-crore project to manufacture one lakh Palio cars per annum, accessories and auto parts. According to the MoU, the land has been sold to Fiat at a nominal rate of Rs 250 per sq mt.
Pfizer promotional literature on heart drug comes under FDA scrutiny
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Maharashtra, has sought details from American multinational Pfizer for the use of allegedly "objectionable" literature to promote its best-selling cardiovascular brand, Amlogard (amlodipine). Amlogard, which is the number one cardiovascular brand in markets like the UK and USA, was recently relaunched in India.
Kinetic to seek advice on mini car global launch
Kinetic Engineering, which is readying itself for the launch of its 500 cc micro-car in the country, has decided to appoint an international consultant to prepare a feasibility report on its launch in international markets. The company feels it may be possible to export the car to other countries, especially to eastern-European and south-Asian countries.
VSNL increases Internet bandwidth
State-owned Videsh Sanchar Nigam (VSNL) has added about 10 mega bytes per second (mbps) of bandwidth to the Internet in the past few months. It has added the bandwidth keeping in mind future demand from private Internet-service providers (ISPs).

Microsoft Corporation India, has launched its on-line information service for its customers and partners. Called Microsoft connect, the service will be made available in New Delhi and Mumbai for both its partners and customers and in Bangalore for its partners.
