  Telco scraps cheap-finance scheme
Telco has abandoned its experiment in cheap finance owing to the recent 3%-4% spurt in interest rates. The company has closed its 5% flat finance scheme effective January 31, only a month after it's launch.
  Lakshmi Auto plans 1:2 rights issue to part-fund recast
Lakshmi Auto Components Ltd, a TVS group company, has firmed up plans to come out with a rights issue in the ratio of one share for every two held at a premium of Rs 10 per share, in the latter half of 1998. The stock is currently traded at about Rs 35.

GE Plastics ties up with Polychem for sourcing
GE Plastics India has announced its alliance with Polychem Ltd and Rajasthan Polymers & Resins Ltd (RPRL) for sourcing and manufacturing Cycolac (ABS). The strategic tie-up would place GE Plastics in a position to meet the growing market for ABS in the country.
LN Mittal group plans $175m update at Ispat Mexicana
The Lakshmi Narayan Mittal group has announced its plans to undertake a $175 million expansion at Ispat Mexicana, Mexico's largest steel exporting company. The project is expected to be completed by 1999. The phase II expansion will increase the company's direct reduced iron (DRI) capacity by one million tonne and slab capacity by another million tonne.

Integrated Enterprises plans mobile-services facility
Integrated Enterprises India Ltd, a Chennai-based financial services company, plans to introduce mobile services facility in Calcutta. The facility has already received good response in Chennai and New Delhi.

Bombay Dyeing plans to expand its marketing base in the domestic and international markets, with emphasis on value-added products. It will upgrade the image of 630 retail stores in the country by creating synergy and improving merchandising skills.
