CLB can compound offence sans court nod
Hoffland Finance Company Ltd filed an application to the northern bench of Company Law Board (CLB) to compound offence in contravention of Sec 68(a) & (b) under Sec 621 A of the act. Registrar of Companies, New Delhi, had filed prosecution against the company and its delinquent directors.

A significant move
It is significant that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) last week decided on letting the market forces dictate on prices of DAP and other complex fertilisers effective April this year. This decision comes as a slap on those who are saying Cassandra-like that reform is in peril because of what they perceive to be a state of political instability in the country.
