MUMBAI, February 5: The Bogmalo Beach Park Plaza in Goa has launched a timeshare programme -- Holiday Club -- which will offer 1,500 exclusive memberships. The move is expected to boost revenues and ensure occupancy even during the slack season.The Goa resort is owned by Trade Wings and managed by Sarovar Park Plaza. The inaugural offer is being made to a select group of Citibank Diners Club card holders but individuals can also directly apply for membership, Sarovar Park Plaza director (sales & marketing) Noshir A Marfatia told a reporters here on Thursday.
The Delhi-based Talent Marketing, which provides a range of sales and marketing services in the hospitality sector, will market the product for the hotel. "The timeshare (vacations) marketing business is the latest addition in the company's product portfolio," said managing director Pankaj Kodesia. It also markets the same product for Bannon Resort, Manali, Country Inn & Suites, Pearl Beach Puri and Rugby Millennium, Matheran, he added.
BogmaloBeach Park Plaza is a member of RCI, an international organisation, promoting the timeshare concept globally. The holiday club member will have an option to swap his holiday week with at any RCI resort in the world. RCI has 3,180 members internationally and 74 from India.
"Apart from the exchange fee of Rs 2,700, a member of the Holiday Club does not have to pay any additional cost for swapping his/her timeshare week with a RCI member resort," RCI (India) managing director Shukla Bose said.However, the offer is subject to certain conditions, including availability. The product offered by the Goa resort is unique and has a lot of comforts to offer, she said. Unlike other offers, it is already functioning and has a name to boot. A certain number of rooms will be allocated for each season which will be used only by the club member, Bose added.
The membership offers a one week vacation annually for 15 years. The fee is different for each season, ranging from Rs 1.05 lakh to Rs 4 lakh for 15 years. Thereare several options for payment. However, the offer also involves an annual maintenance charge and utility charges to be paid by the member.
