Roy to head CA bodyRahul Roy of Calcutta has been elected as president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for 1998-99. Roy was earlier vice-president of the ICAI.
Roy, 34, is one of the youngest presidents of ICAI. He has authored papers on a large number of subjects like banking, operational audit and communication skills. He has also served on many important committees of the institute as its vice-president.
Chhajed to be ICAI VP
S P Chhajed of Mumbai has been elected as the vice-president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for 1998-99.
Chhajed is a fellow member of the institute. He has been associated with the central council for nearly six years and held different offices. He has been member of the standing and non-standing committees of the institute and was earlier vice-chairman of the Western India Regional Council. He represented India in the 14th World Congress of Accountants at Washington.
New ASTL director
K Raghunathan has joinedAkshay Software Technologies Ltd(ASTL) as Director. He will be based at Mumbai. An M.Tech from IIT Powai, Raghunathan has 25 years experience in the field of Information Technology.
Prior to this, Raghunathan was working with Bluestar in their software exports segment. He has also handled academic positions at IIT Powai and NITIE. ASTL is one of the leading Indian companies providing IT solutions, having tie ups with American IT giants Centura Software Corporation and FTP Software Inc.
