Bill Gates plans to write second book

REUTERS
New York, Mar 13: Bill Gates, the chairman of Microsoft Corp, plans to write a new book that will showcase his talents as a technologist, the New York Times said on Friday.

Unlike Gates' "The Road Ahead," which was aimed at general readers, the new book is meant to reach Microsoft's millions of business customers and help an image that has been tarnished by a government lawsuit charging Microsoft with monopolistic practices, the Times said.

The newspaper cites as its source publishing industry people who have seen the proposal.

The book will portray Gates as an innovator, who built a company that changed the way the world does business, the Times said.

"The theme is related to bringing Bill's `gee whiz' imageback," an unidentified editor told the Times.
