  Berger Paints plans marketing thrust in South India
Berger Paints is planning a marketing thrust in south India and is likely to face stiff competition from market leader Asian Paints in the decorative segment. Despite recessionary trends in the economy, Berger is expecting a turnover exceeding Rs 350 crore in the current fiscal.
  Sterlite needs RBI nod to fund acquisition cost
Sterlite Industries, the Mumbai-based cable manufacturing company which had made a public offer to acquire 20% of Indal shares, is legally required to obtain the RBI clearance for financing the acquisition cost. Since Sterlite had kept the public offer open to Indal's GDR shareholders also, the company would have to obtain the central bank's permission if it gets response from Indal's overseas shareholders.

Bajaj Auto sees marginal rise in turnover to Rs 3,500 crore
Bajaj Auto is likely to report a marginal growth in its turnover and net profit this fiscal. According to Vice president (Waluj) CP Tripathi, the company may clock a sales turnover of about Rs 3,500 crore as against Rs 3,400 crore registered last fiscal.
NTPC draws up pollution-control strategy for Talcher project expansion
The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is wooing villagers around its Talcher project with the pollution control strategy it has drawn up for the 2,000mw expansion of the super thermal power plant, for which it will get a World Bank loan.
