  When Madan Gopal Damani's lobbying prowess did not work
Known to be a fighter to the core, Damani fought to the very end to win the battle for his survival as the head of the country's oldest and till recently the largest stock exchange. And even as the newly elected directors on the governing board meet on Monday to take a view on his replacement, people close to Damani say that the battle might well have been lost for him but definitely not the war.
  Consistent dividend-paying companies throw open new investment avenues
With the RBI signalling a lower interest rate regime, investors can now pick up stocks of companies which have a consistent dividend paying record at a much lower levels. A look at some of these cases reveals that their stocks provide decent returns to the market price.
