  Vajpayee's government wins trust vote with 274 "ayes" and 26 "nays"
The Atal Behari Vajpayee government has comfortably won the confidence vote in the Lok Sabha, ending the ten-day long suspense over its stability with the Telugu Desam Party finally taking the plunge and openly voting in its favour. The two-member National Conference abstained.
  India gets $130m aid from global environment body
India has received a $130-million aid from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), an international environmental financial mechanism. The Indian contribution to the GEF was $13 million. The GEF's apex body comprising 161 members will meet for the first time in New Delhi from April 1.

Rs 105cr IBRD grant to IDBI for ODS scheme
In an exclusive arrangement, World Bank has provided around Rs 105 crore in form of grant to the Industrial Development Bank of India for funding phasing out of Ozone depleting substances(ODS). ODS is used in refrigeration sector, aerosol sector and solvent sector in India.
Govt grounds international airport plans at Revas, may alight on Navi Mumbai
The Maharashtra government has temporarily put on hold the construction of an international airport in the coastal Revas and Sindhudurg following strong opposition from the locals. Instead, the government now plans to construct an international airport on a build-operate-transfer basis with an investment of Rs 2,215 crore at the sprawling 500 hectare area in Navi Mumbai.

IMF approves $330m grant for Philippines
The International Monetary Fund on Friday approved a payment of about $330 million for the Philippines and agreed to make $1.37 billion available over the next two years if Manila needs the cash.
