Sony India not to pick up Akai gauntlet, to hold on to price line
Sony India Ltd, the fully owned subsidiary of Japanese consumer-electronics giant, Sony Corporation, has refused to be drawn into a price war with arch rivals Akai in the audio and television segments. "We have no intention of lowering prices just to push up volumes. We think exchange offers and schemes like offering two televisions at the cost of one will prove inimical to our brand image," Sony India managing director, Yoshio Kubo said.
