Buy-back issue was not taken up because of administrative changes: N K Singh
N K Singh, revenue secretary, Union finance ministry at a seminar on the budget said that the Union Budget for 1998-99 has not taken up the issue of buy-back of shares because of the recent administrative changes. He further reiterated that the initiative in this connection should come from the Department of Company Affairs.
NSE pegs index futures transaction fee at Rs 2 a lakh
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has set a Rs 1-crore net worth requirement for the trading members of its index futures sub-segment of the derivatives segment, which would allow all existing members to be eligible for membership. The transaction fee for trading in this segment will be Rs 2 per lakh of traded value.
NSE profit falls by 77 per cent
The profit of National Stock Exchange (NSE) for 1997-98 decreased by 76.87%, as its income went up by just Rs 5.06 crore against Rs 26.59 crore rise in expenditure during the year.
