RBI drops concessional export credit scheme
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday scrapped the proposed concessional export credit scheme for `incremental' exports, announced on June 11. The move follows hectic lobbying by bankers and exporters against the concessional scheme.
IRA Bill to be taken up at next cabinet meet, says Sinha
The Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) Bill will be taken up for discussion in the next cabinet meeting expected to be held early next week. The government has also proposed to introduce the much awaited Narcotics Bill, the Money Laundering Bill and the Foreign Exchange Management Act (Fema) during the current session.
Non-food credit down by Rs 7,282 crore in Q1
Non-food credit in the first quarter of the current fiscal (March 27-July 3) has registered a sharp fall of Rs 7,282 crore (-2.3 per cent) against a Rs 1,113-crore negative credit growth (0.4 per cent) in the corresponding period of the the previous financial year.
