Enkay Telecom joins hands with NEC
Enkay Telecommunications India has collaborated with global major NEC to introduce the latest generation of communication systems in India. The NEC-Enkay collaboration will draw upon the technological expertise of NEC and the marketing savvy of Enkay to introduce to the Indian market the NEC range of PABX systems, including the NEAX 7400 ICS.
Williamson Magor to seek approval at AGM to buy back its shares
Williamson Magor & Co, the holding company of the B M Khaitan group, has mooted a proposal to buy back its own shares for which it has sought the approval of its shareholders at the company's forthcoming annual general meeting on August 12. The company, anticipating that the law may permit buyback of shares, will pass a special resolution to introduce a new Article 3A in its Articles of Association, which will enable the company to purchase any of its own shares or securities as and when it is permitted to do so.
Britannia bloats assets via investments
Britannia Industries invested nearly Rs 36 crore in 1997-98 on increasing its asset base, particularly to upgrade and expand its new manufacturing facilities. This was part of the food & confectionery company's restructuring programme, the objective of which was to make the company a low-cost producer with emphasis on new product technology and modern packaging systems.
