Justice Satpal in the running for CLB helm
Justice Satpal, retired judge of the Himachal Pradesh high court, has been shortlisted to succeed as the next chairman of the Company Law Board (CLB). The selection committee has recommended justice Satpal's nomination to the law minister Thambi Durai for clearance.

22 state units tot up huge Rs 518-crore losses

Panel suggests HC to handle appeals against CEGAT order
The working group set up by the Centre to redraft the Central Excise Act and rules has recommended that all appeals against the order of the Customs, Excise and Gold (Appellate) Tribunal (CEGAT), not relating to rate of duty or valuation, should be allowed directly to the high court.
