Ashok Leyland to hive off castings unit into separate subsidiary
The Rs 2,014-crore Ashok Leyland plans to hive off its Hyderabad-based ductron-castings unit into a separate subsidiary. The Chennai-based company plans to invest up to Rs 25 crore as equity capital in the new entity.

Dunlop India seeks to cut 3000 jobs
The promoters of ailing tyre major Dunlop India Ltd have proposed to eliminate 3,164 jobs, freeze wages and ruled out payments for workers during the closure period. The management has also proposed to contract out several non-production functions at its two factories at Sahagunj in West Bengal and Ambattur in Tamil Nadu.
