Banking on new strategies
Strategy is an end-oriented concept and essentially involves envisioning the future external environment that the institution is likely to confront, the threats it poses and the opportunities it is likely to bring in its wake and to match internal capabilities with the probable external compulsions.
First ray of hope
Industrial production, as measured by CSO, rose smartly in the first quarter of the current fiscal in the face of doomsaying by CII. But the last word on whether the economy is moving out of the recession or remains mired in it has yet to be said.
Clubbed education
It is ironical whilst college teachers all over the country are on an indefinite strike demanding a higher pay hike, various states are busy wooing a consortium of industrialists keen on setting up a business school in association with the Kellogs and Wharton school of management.
