Falling margins push private builders to the wall
The recent changes in the Delhi building bye-laws will not give any fillip to the private builder's fortunes. Builders feel that raising the floor-to-area ratio (FAR) to 66.66% per floor with a maximum of 200% (three storeys), the range in which a majority of private building activity takes place, is not adequate.
Karnataka to okay Rs 100cr industrial plans
Karnataka Udyog Mitra (KUM), the state level single window agency, is set to accord a green signal for five industrial proposals totalling an investment of Rs 100 crore on Monday. The investment proposals are mainly for setting up greenfield projects in the state.
DGCA moots new safety concepts
The Director General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) HS Khola has called for a new safety-management concept which includes upgradation of airport infrastructure and emphasis on proactive safety measures rather than reactive ones. These measures according to him, will help improve aviation safety and reduced accidents.
