Chicago Pneumatic revival ignored
While some MNCs, such as Ingersoll Rand, which are active players in the compressor industry catering mainly to the oil and gas sector have done well; those, such as Chicago Pneumatic, which catered to the manufacturing sector could not put in a decent performance last year.
The ground reality
The granting of `infrastructure status' to the housing industry is the first concrete step that the government has taken towards its revitalisation after having included housing in its national agenda for governance.
ICICI emerging as the winner
The first-quarter results announced by the three financial institutions show that while ICICI is firmly moving towards its proclaimed target of becoming a universal bank, IDBI and IFCI continue to stick to their traditional role. Unlike IDBI and IFCI, ICICI has consciously achieved an evenly distributed portfolio.
