Set up cell to monitor plantation firms, DCA told
The Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has asked the department of company affairs (DCA) to set up a special cell for plantation companies and exercise powers under the Companies Act, 1956, to verify their status.
Short-term core bonds, repo-rate hike likely
The central bank is likely to raise the fixed-repo rate, introduce longer-duration repo facility and direct Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) and other term-lending institutions to float short-term infrastructure bonds. It may also consider floating the bonds on behalf of the centre.
Price Waterhouse to weigh Petronet stake for ADB
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has engaged chartered accountant Price Waterhouse to conduct a study on Petronet LNG before deciding on an equity stake in the mega venture for importing liquefied natural gas (LNG).
