Air India securitisation deal may be spread over 7 years
Air India is expected to finalise a timeframe of seven years for its proposed multimillion dollar securitisation deal with a coupon-rate mark-up over the five-year US Treasury. The carrier's original plan to raise $200 million may also be modified. It is being considered that the airline keep this amount within the range of $150 million (approximately Rs 600 crore) and $200 million.

Maharashtra plans to provide naptha linkage to short-gestation power projects
The Maharashtra government plans to reallocate naphtha linkage to provide fuel to some short-gestation power projects. This follows recent changes made in the liquid fuel policy by the ministry of petroleum & natural gas in coordination with the ministry of power.

Sterlite's plea to set aside Sebi diktat on Indal open offer spiked yet again
A division bench of the Delhi high court has dismissed Sterlite Industries' appeal to stay the proceedings before Sebi, which has slapped a show cause notice on the company for aborting its open offer to Indian Aluminium shareholders. After a single judge of the high court had dismissed Sterlite's plea on September 3, the company decided to go in appeal before a division bench.

SAIL plants barter steel to clear dues with engineering firms
In a bid to reduce inventory, plants under the Steel Authority of India (SAIL) have intensified the move to clear dues of their engineering contractors by offering steel. The cash-starved steel plants' strategy appears to have succeeded to some extent as a number of such engineering firms have started lifting steel against their outstandings.
