Tax practitioners body seeks stay on Samadhan scheme
The All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) has filed an application in the Delhi High Court on Monday seeking an unconditional stay on the Kar Vivadh Samadhan Scheme. The application follows the government's failure to file a reply within two weeks as per the directions of justice AS Lahoty of the Delhi High Court.
Cyber Laws bill to be introduced in winter session
The government will soon unveil a package to boost the hardware sector, commerce secretary PP Prabhu said on Tuesday while addressing a conference on venture capital for the software sector. The government is also planning to form a second labour commission to prepare labour for the changing industrial environment in the country, electronics secretary Ravindra Gupta said.
Beekay group evinces interest in Jaigarh port
Things seem to be picking up in the port sector in Maharashtra. After a long lull, the BKBS, a part of the Rs 200-crore Beekay group, has given an expression of interest for Jaigarh, the second minor port that the Maharashtra Maritime Board wishes to develop. The first was Wadhavan, which went to P&O Australia, under a MOU signed with the state government.
