NPC plan to generate 10,000 MW power by 2020
The Nuclear Power Corporation's (NPC) Vision 2020 plan envisages generation of 10,000mw of power by 2020. Vision 2000 involves the setting up of more nuclear power plants, with five fast breeder reactors generating 2,500mw, heavy water reactors generating 10,000mw and about 8,000mw will be generated by light water reactors.
Kirloskar Pneumatic adopts cost-cutting measures
Kirloskar Pneumatic, which posted a loss of Rs 3.98 crore during 1997-98, has enforced several cost reduction measures at all levels, including reducing manpower, chairman Rahul C Kirloskar said. He further stated that Kirloskar Pneumatic should be able to wipe out its losses during the current year and post a respectable profit.
Indo-Oman Fertiliser turns to UK, Italian firms for funds
The Indo-Oman Fertiliser Company has approached British and Italian export- credit agencies for financing the $1,106-million mega fertiliser project following withdrawal of the Export Credit Agency of France (Coface) from the lending consortium.
