The union government has laid down three different bases of classification for urban real estate property. The three recommended bases are value zones, building quality and use of property.

City speciality hospital project fails to take off
The Maharashtra government's bid to involve the private sector in the Rs 90 crore 300-bed super-speciality hospital at GT hospital complex in south Mumbai has come a cropper without a single tender having been submitted. However, the government has decided to implement this project with aid from the World Bank and through the formation of the Maharashtra Hospital Development Corporation (MHDC), a special purpose vehicle company.
