Buyback paves way for stake hike by MNCs
The introduction of buy-back facility will help foreign companies inch towards a majority holding in their Indian subsidiaries. the foreign partner can also hike the stake without actually bringing in additional funds.
FM to take up depository inter-connectivity issure with DoT
The finance minister, Yashwant Sinha, has decided to take up with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) the matter relating to relaxation in DoT's inter-connectivity norms of networks for the depository. The current DoT norms do not allow wide-area-networks to connect.
HLL conspicuous by its absence
The Prime minister's efforts to revive the stock markets has failed to help Hindustan Lever participate in the upward rally. When the market indices tested the crucial levels of 2,820 twice, HLL was the only stock which provided the much needed support to the index by maintaining its upward rise.
