New telecom policy set to end DoT long-distance monopoly
The new telecom policy is likely to remove the restriction on the number of players in basic and cellular circles, end the department of telecommunications' monopoly on long-distance telephony in 2 months and scrap Videsh Sanchar Nigam's monopoly on other services by 2004.
