Brokers body calls EGM to discuss commission cut
The All-India Exchange Brokers' Association (Aieba) has called an extraordinary general body meeting on December 21 to deliberate on a cut in brokerage as well as to move towards negotiability on the same account. If cleared, the stage could be set for Reuters to go ahead with its electronic broking interface.
SEBI seeks more powers for market regulation
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has sought more powers under the SEBI Act for prosecution and enforcement in the securities market. The market regulator has also called for integration of various securities laws to avoid duplicacy in market regulation.
Alliance '95 corpus grows to Rs 74 crore
Alliance '95, backed by a solid performance, has seen its assets under management rise to Rs 74 crore as on November 30 from Rs 36 crore as on March 31, 1998, a rise of 105.5 per cent. Alliance '95 is a balanced fund from Alliance Capital Mutual Fund, with 60 per cent in equity and 40 per cent in debt.
