Nasik, Jan 2:Congress workers staged a rasta roko at Niphad and Manmad towns in the district on Friday demanding lifting ban on onion export and remunerative prices for onions as prices of the commodity continued to crash for the past one week. The demonstrators also burnt effigy of state chief minister Manohar Joshi in protest against government's "failure to tackle present situation".
Vehicular traffic on busy Nasik-Aurangabad highway was affected as hundreds of farmers and congressmen squatted on the road and staged rasta roko.
