Centre eyes State Bank model, plans to sell small banks' stake
The centre is drawing up a blueprint for outright sale of its stake in the smaller, profitable public sector banks to the larger and more profitable ones. It is also considering reducing the RBI stake in the State Bank of India (SBI) to below 51%.
Centre to tag QR norm in amended Foreign Trade Act
The centre is going ahead with amending the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, for incorporating a provision of quantitative import restrictions in line with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) provisions on safeguards.
Lukoil offers ONGC Videsh stake in oil block
Russia's largest petroleum company (in terms of oil reserves), Lukoil, has offered ONGC Videsh up to 49 per cent stake in a 8,000 sq km oil block at the North Caspian Sea.
