SAIL Q3 losses touch Rs 273 crore
The Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has registered a net loss of Rs 273 crore for the third quarter ended December 1998. This is as against a net profit of Rs 30.49 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Gujarat Ambuja profit falls 20%
Gujarat Ambuja Cements, hit by low price realisations, has suffered a 20% drop in net profit to Rs 46.36 crore during the half-year ended December 31, 1998.
Grasim 9-month net drops to Rs 110 crore
Aditya Birla group flagship Grasim Industries, as a result of lower volumes sales and declining sales realisation in all its mainline businesses, has posted a 36.6% drop in net profit for the nine months ending December 31, 1998.
