Bit early to rejoice
The second successive month of positive exports provides a silver lining to the otherwise gloomy economic picture. India's exports increased by 6.73% year-on-year in dollar terms, after registering a growth of 3.81% in November.

Not much samadhan
Preliminary reports say that the Kar Vivad Samadhan Scheme (KVSS) will fetch revenue (both direct and indirect tax) of around Rs 2,500 crore. Though the figure exceeds the estimations of tax professionals, it falls far short of the revenue expectations of the Government.

Why reforms have lost steam
Ex-Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar wants a national debate on what he calls so-called economic reform. The smart thing to say about this is that, out of limelight, he is seeking to grab attention.
