Indonesian rubber stable, no fresh demand

REUTERS

JAKARTA, FEB 5: Indonesian rubber prices were stable on Friday on weak demand, dealers said.

"The market is very quiet," said a Medan-based trader.

Traders said tyre-grade SIR20 was quoted at 27.50 US cents/lb in Palembang, Belawan and Surabaya for April shipment, unchanged from Thursday.

A Padang-based trader said that prices may edge slightly higher next week if the International Natural Rubber Association (INRO) intervened in the market.

"The market has fallen since the Moslem holidays in January. If INRO enters the market next week, prices could edge up to 28.00 U.S. Cents/lb for April shipment," said the trader.
