MTNL's Internet debut hooks many
There came an alternative and Net buffs rushed to grab it. The Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), set to provide the biggest challenge to another state-owned entity, the Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL), got off to a flying start on the first day of the launch of its internet service in Mumbai and Delhi.
Recession-hit Voltas adopts new mantra -- Work more for less
The new slogan for the recession-hit corporates seems to be work more for less. Voltas is negotiating with its 7,000-odd employees for a six-day week, reducing the number of holidays from 18 days to 10 days per annum and a complete freeze on dearness allowance. The Voltas corporate office historically follows a five-day week schedule.
ICICI Bank set to launch chain of off-site ATM centres in city
In keeping with its thrust on cyberbanking services, ICICI Bank will be launching the first ever off-site ATM centre to be set up by an individual Indian bank. The first of the proposed chain of off-site ATM centres to be set up by the bank will come up very shortly at King's Circle in Mumbai.
