Damani set to retire from BSE board
MG Damani, former president of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is set to retire from the exchange's governing board on March 31, 1999. The exchange has decided to conduct fresh elections for the posts of president and two other directors which fall vacant on that date.
Sebi panel reviews demat trading
The Sebi Working Committee met in Mumbai on Friday to review the progress of dematerialised trading in the major exchanges of the country. The working group found that more than 90,000 crore shares have been dematerialised and 2.75 lakh accounts opened.
Carryforward rates close at 19.75%
The carryforward rates on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) closed at 19.75% annualised weighted average for the week ended February 12. The total outstanding carryforward positions were marked lower at Rs 1,160.69 crore, with the purchase carryforward positions at Rs 1,118.37 crore.
